TRANSPORTATION

Transportation in Greater Prescott Area

It’s easy to reach Prescott from any other part of the state. After all, Prescott is located near the geographic center of Arizona. Approaching Prescott from Phoenix, you will travel on I-17 to Route 69 – about a two-hour, 100-mile trip, in total. From the  north, you’d take I-17 south from Flagstaff to Route 169, and then Route 69 – once again, about a two-hour, 100-mile trip. A little further to the west, take Route 89 south from I-40 at Ash Fork and you'll be in Prescott.

Traveling by air? Prescott Regional Airport (PRC) is the third-busiest airport in Arizona, in part because it is the flight-training center for nearby Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. United Airlines (operated by SkyWest) offers daily commercial air service to Los Angeles (LAX) and Denver (DEN). Tickets to and from Prescott can be purchased on United's website via united.com

Yavapai Regional Transit

Picture
Public transit system serving the tri-city area five days a week. Local routes operate in Chino Valley with daily connections to and around Prescott. On Wednesday, riders can travel to Prescott Valley as well. Stops include shopping, medical facilities, the Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza, schools, and recreation centers. Deviations for a pick-up or drop-off can be arranged by calling the day prior for persons who have difficulty reaching a regularly scheduled route or stop. Fares are $2.00, one-way, or $1.00 for seniors and people with
disabilities. Veterans may ride free with proper identification.

Ride Prescott

Picture
Ride Prescott provides free downtown shuttle services during the tourist season, from the Whiskey Off Road until Halloween. Local realtors are the drivers, providing the best in customer service and making sure everyone enjoys their stay in Everybody’s Hometown. In 2019 season there will be the addition of tours, with a focus on local history. With an estimated 5,000 rides given in 2018, we are delighted to support all of our amazing downtown businesses.
