Healthcare in Prescott, Arizona


​Prescott residents are fortunate to have access to an extensive array of advanced healthcare services that are recognized for quality and patient-focused care. Complementing the full spectrum of healthcare services provided through physicians, dentists, chiropractors, optometrists and many others, is the West Campus of Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) and the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System – the largest VA medical center in the region. Prescott residents also have easy access to the extensive healthcare resources available in Prescott Valley, including the East Campus of YRMC, the YRMC Del E. Webb Outpatient Center and Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.​

Yavapai Regional Medical Center - Dignity Health

Prescott is home to the West Campus of Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC), the largest acute care, not-for-profit hospital in the region. This full-service, 137-bed, stateof-the-art hospital is staffed by highly trained healthcare experts representing a wide range of specialties. YRMC West is well known for highperforming hip and knee replacement programs and has been recognized as one of the Top 10 hospitals in the country for safe surgery. A Level-4 Trauma Center, YRMC West serves as the regional base hospital for Arizona’s trauma network, and is also home to the James Family Heart Center. In nearby Prescott Valley, YRMC’s East Campus provides a full range of healing services and is home to the YRMC BreastCare Center, Family Birthing Center, Infusion Center and Advanced Wound Care which features two state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers. In addition to two well-respected hospital locations, YRMC also provides expert care through 21 primary and specialty care clinics, outpatient imaging centers in Prescott and Prescott Valley, outpatient laboratory services and the largest physical rehabilitation team in the region. Complimenting YRMC’s Vision of a Total Healing Environment is a deep commitment to provide community-based health education and wellness programs. Lectures, health fairs, support groups and instructional programs are just a few examples of the extensive outreach program known as YRMC HealthConnect.

Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital

Recognized in the top 10 percent of all inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the country for the past eleven years, Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital (Mountain Valley) is the premier provider of acute physical rehabilitation in central Arizona. Mountain Valley provides intensive rehabilitative and medical services for patients with functional deficits as a result of acute diagnoses such as stroke, hip fracture, amputation, and multiple trauma including total brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Other neurological specialties include Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. The rehab team’s focus includes daily rounding and care by physicians that specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, along with certified rehab nursing and respiratory therapy. All inpatients at Mountain Valley receive a minimum of three hours of therapy a day with specialty-trained therapists including: physical therapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with 44 inpatient beds, a 9,000-square-foot therapy gym, an aquatic therapy pool, and an outdoor therapy courtyard. Mountain Valley also takes advantage of the latest advances in medical and therapy technology including a Zero G tracking support system that employs robotic control systems. Mountain Valley’s goal is to help patients recover quickly and return home with a renewed sense of self-sufficiency. The facility is certified by The Joint Commission in both Brain Injury and Stroke; signifying the hospital’s dedication to developing better results for patients that have suffered brain injuries or strokes. The awards were given after a rigorous on-site review by an expert evaluator of the hospital’s practices, programs and out comes in treating these patients. The certifications reflect Mountain Valley’s ongoing evaluation of these programs and commitment to constantly improving our performance.

Northern Arizona VA Health Care System

Eligible veterans in the north central Arizona region can take advantage of healthcare services through the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System. The main campus, the Bob Stump VA Medical Center, is located in Prescott. Five Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Anthem, Flagstaff, Cottonwood, Kingman and Lake Havasu City serve veterans in northern Maricopa, Yavapai, Coconino, Mojave and Apache counties. Additionally there are Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Outreach Clinics on American Indian Nations in Chinle, Second Mesa and Tuba City, a VA Primary Care Clinic at the Indian Health Service Chinle Comprehensive Care Health Care facility, and Primary Care Telemedicine Outpatient Clinics in Holbrook and Page, AZ The main Medical Center offers inpatient and outpatient care on a primary and secondary care level, including medical, specialty, rehabilitative and longterm care services.
