THE SOGGY BOTTOM BAND is an “all-star” local Prescott band made up of some of the best old time folk and bluegrass singers and players that Prescott has to offer. Each band member leads and supports his own highly visible, successful, and active band and/or project; and in most cases multiple bands and projects. They have collectively come together to form the Soggy Bottom Band in order to pay tribute to the old timey music featured in the film “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” They performed a complete musical play at the Yavapai College to a nearly sold out crowd on June 11 this year. In every show, three of the band members take on the persona of the three main characters of the film; namely Everett, Pete, and Delmar. The band consists of Sky “Daddy” Conwell (Sky Daddy and the Pop Rocks, 99 Years a Johnny Cash Tribute), Jett Montana (King Copper Jazz Band), Robert Aragon (Aragon Brothers, Band of Brothers), Gord Acri (voted best Banjo award 2017 and 2018), Cal Greer (CattyWampus, Prescott Swing Jazz Conservitory), Nick Canuel (The Drive, Latigo), and John Kenneddy (national competitive fiddle player). Old fashioned high energy nostalgic fun is what makes this band special… and a few laughs especially for those who are familiar with the film.
