Join us for an unforgettable experience of new traditions in Prescott and part of the Arizona's Christmas City.
Full of new traditions of Old Europe will be celebrated in historic Prescott. In the spirit and style of a German Christmas Market, Goodwin Street will be filled with vendors with last-minute gift items, live music, horse-drawn carriage rides around the Courthouse, and a visit with St. Nicholas for the kids.
Enjoy German-style food and a Bier Garten with beer and hot mulled wine!
Christkind Angel (Nichole Perlberg)Come meet the Christkind, a fairy-like being dressed in gold and white robes with a crown upon her golden locks. She is the namesake of the Christkindlmarket and watches over it all. Christkind folklore dates back to the 1500's and stems from traditional customs: parades during the holiday season were guided by one “grand” angel, the Christkind. Since then, and still today, she is the bearer of gifts to most children in German-speaking countries, much like Santa Claus is in the United States. Traditionally, children tell Christkind their Christmas wishes at the Market, and then gifts are exchanged December 24th and delivered by the Christkind, who leaves them under the Christmas tree and disappears before the children can catch a glimpse of her.
Come let her collect your Christmas wishes! |
Santa's Tent in the Kinder KornerBe sure to visit Santa in his festively-decorated tent as he waits for children to visit him! Bring the family and take pictures to capture these memories. Let your little ones have those special conversations and create memories to last a lifetime.
This is also a hands on booth for the little ones, with crafts for the kids to enjoy, as well as performances by Aerialist Jen Martin. |
