Further West Harvest Fest is a family-friendly street festival to celebrate the season through music and cultural experiences!
When: October 16th from 2-7 p.m.
Where: We're shutting down North Cortez between Willis and Sheldon in downtown Prescott, Arizona.
This bash will have AMAZING music! Featuring live music from Tucson-based XIXA a guitar-slinging six-piece, uniquely attuned to the desert and their Latin roots. Combining gritty guitars, the bumping grind of chicha, and desert blues into a mesmerizing stew. They're also a band whose time had come to define what they call "The New Southwest"-intense, sun-bleached music shot through with an inky gothic horror that scans like the long-lost soundtrack to a cult, macabre B-movie Western (check them out on YouTube). We'll also have the flamenco- jazz band Summa Totius from Prescott, AZ!
The streets will come alive as the team from Living Folklore hosts a larger-than-life giant puppet parade and everyone is invited to join in the procession! They're bringing some costumes for the kiddos to transform into wild things (owls, skunks, you name it)! Or, have them come in their Halloween costume, because why not?
From 2-3 pm we'll have Polynesian Siva out in the street dancing the culture of the Pacific Islands!
We'll have free kids activities including Kids Music Time with Stephy Leigh! We'll have art vendors, food, beer and wine and lots of community fun. This is a fully outdoor event. $8 in advance, $10 at the event. Kids under 12 enter for free.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Prescott Unified School District (PUSD Foundation) so this is a fun day that supports our youth and educators!
